May 2008 - Our debut album, "A Greater Storm" will officially be released on May 20th! The album features original songs by Patrick McDougal, Shane Lail and Ty Gilpin, as well as a couple of fiddle tunes arranged by Tim Gardner. The album was produced by Eric Willson for Omni Artist Productions and Mountain Home Records, and features guests Rob Ickes, Cody Kilby, David Johnson and Jeff Taylor. March 2007 - High Windy is featured on WNCW's Goin' Across the Mountain Live Vol. 2, a compilation of live bluegrass sessions in Studio B. May 2006 - HWB attended the 82nd annual Fiddler's Grove festival in Union Grove, NC and took first place in the senior bluegrass band competition in addition to awards in the individual bluegrass fiddle, guitar, and bass categories. It is a great honor to become part of the Fiddler's Grove legacy.

September 2005 - The High Windy Band took first place in the highly competitive Mountain State Fair Bluegrass Band Competition, as well as awards in several individual categories. They then took part in the fair finale by performing with the bluegrass supergroup, Mountain Heart.
